1970 Plymouth Duster

The Duster 340 was an economy, compact-sized muscle car.  The Duster had a fastback roof design and different taillight treatment.  To keep costs down, pop-out rear windows were used instead of roll-up windows.

The Duster 340 could be identifies by its flat black front grill, longitudinal side strips and rear tape treatment.

The dash was standard Valiant, but a 150 mph speedometer took the place of the stock unit.  An 8000 rpm tachometer was optional.  Bench seats were standard, buckets optional.

The Duster 340 also came with a front anti-sway bar.  E70 x 14 tires mounted on the 14 inch Rally wheels were also standard.

The 340ci small block V8 engine, rated at 275 hp was mated to a three-speed manual transmission with a floor-mounted shifter.  Optional was a four-speed manual and the Torque Flute automatic transmission.  These cars were very light and capable of running high 13 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

This particular '70 Duster is a very rare Panther Pink with white bucket seats, a four speed transmission and a rear spoiler.  It has full paperwork including the broadcast sheet.

The suspension consisted of heavy-duty front tension bars and rear leaf springs with standard manual front disc brakes.

This car was purchased in May 2006 and resides in Daryl Carter's personal muscle collection in Penticton BC, Canada.
