2007 Shelby GT500

Shelby and Ford returned for the 2007 model year with the Shelby GT500. Introduced at the 2003 New York International Auto Show, the GT 500 wowed onlookers with it's 5.4 liter V-8 producing 500 supercharged horsepower and 490 pound feet of torque.

 

To harness this much power the 3,900 pound Shelby features a Tremec TR-6060 six-speed, 3 :73 positraction rear end, and eighteen inch wheels shod with Goodyear

F -1 Supercar tires.

 

 

Additionally the Shelby features exclusive styling and aerodynamic treatments along with high performance suspension tuning. This combination of performance enhancements combines for a zero to sixty in the low 4s, and the ability to break into the high 11 s in the quarter mile, trapping in the 120 mile per hour range.

The Shelby GT500 is a result of a collaborative effort consisting ofFord's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and Carroll Shelby. The GT500 is produced in limited quantities, approximately 10,000 units per year, at Ford's Flat Rock, Michigan assembly line. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This particular Black and Silver striped GT500 was purchased in South Dakota during November of 2007, and now resides in Penticton, B.C., in the private collection of Daryl Carter.
